Welcome to the most incredible season opening vintage racing event in Southern California! This event will feature Champ/Indy Cars for an oval exhibition and of course all of VARA’s normal race groups.

We begin our 2010 season of racing at the beautiful Auto Club Speedway, Fontana, California. As a tradition for VARA, the public is invited to attend our race weekend be sure to bring out all of your friends and family! This three day weekend will include test sessions on Friday. The Friday test day is included in your entry fee. Our event would not be possible without the support of our generous sponsors Tom Malloy of Trench Shoring and Jim Click of Tuttle Click Automotive Group & Valvoline. VARA is pleased to feature a few special extras for the weekend:

Historic Champ and Indy Cars from all eras of open wheel racing. A special thanks to Victory Lane and Oval Racing Magazine for their support and making this portion of our weekend happen! They are also planning a gathering on Friday night to reminisce about oval racing of the past. You are welcome to attend further information will be given out at Registration.

Featuring special track Sessions for the Austin Healey Club of Southern California with a car corral for all the vintage racers to enjoy along with other car clubs. Pacific F2000 - This is the Season Opener for this exciting open wheel series.

COURSE CONFIGURATION

The course configuration will be the long auto competition course, without a chicane.

EVENT POINTS

This event is a normal points event.

GARAGES

VARA has secured a limited number of shared garage spaces. These spaces will be available on a first come first serve basis. Be sure to mark you entry form and get it in early if you desire a garage. The fee is $100 per car good for the three days.

TIRE AND FUEL SERVICE

Topless Performance will provide tire service. You can contact Topless Performance regarding your tire requirements and questions at (877) 728-0914. Race fuel will be available for purchase from Auto Club Speedway all three days.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

This is a very labor-intensive event. If you or someone you know would like to help out on the race weekend please contact the VARA office at 800 280-8272. Your time is greatly needed and appreciated!

RACE ENTRY INFORMATION

The entry fee for all three days is $350.00 for current VARA members; the fee for non-members is $395.00. Friday will be a test and tune day, no timing and scoring. Entries received after February 25th are required to pay a $35.00 late fee. With paid and accepted entry you will receive (2) gate passes with your entry. Additional event passes are available for $10.00 each.

NEW AND UNLICENSED DRIVERS

Unlicensed drivers and drivers running for the first time with VARA must include an additional $50.00 fee for the VARA ground school. Rookies will additionally be required to run the Test and Tune day on Friday. The Ground School will be held at the track on Friday March 5th at 6:00 PM.

VARA requires each participant to have a physical exam every two years. If you do not have a current medical form on file with the VARA office, please immediately contact the VARA office and a form will be sent to you or you can download from our website at www.vararacing.comMedical cards from other approved racing organizations are acceptable. All racecars must have a logbook and meet VARA eligibility requirements.

NEW RACE HEADQUARTERS AND LODGING

NEW Race Headquarters at the Sheraton Ontario Airport Hotel. There is a block of rooms reserved for VARA participants. TIMING AND SCORING

If you would like to be included in the timing and scoring during the race weekend, you must use an AMB transponder. If you do not own one, you may rent one. Please indicate the AMB rental on your entry form. The fee to rent an AMB transponder is $40.00 with a $300 security deposit required at registration.
