VARA has been invited to join the San Francisco Region SCCA for a weekend of vintage racing. This is an excellent opportunity to race at Mazda Raceway (in Laguna Seca park), the premier race track on the West Coast where all your favorite pro drivers have competed.
There will be four vintage run groups, open to all production cars and sports racers (sorry, no open wheel cars). Sound limit DB will be either 101db or 103 DB, depending on class. No worries folks - a good muffler pointing out the back will get you under the limit easily. If you have questions or need recommendations for sound requirements, please
This is a two-day event with optional Friday practice (there's a street car track familiarity session on Friday afternoon, and street car drive-around early Saturday morning). Both Saturday and Sunday feature a Qualifying Race and a Flag Race. Cost is $495 for Saturday/Sunday, $150 for Friday practice and track tours.
Tech Info: We have worked with the SF Region SCCA to accommodate our licensing, safety and rules package to match VARA current regulations. No special requirements will be required other than sound for the weekend.
VARA Annual Tech inspections will be honored.
Head & Neck safety device recommended, but not required.
VARA 5 year seat belt expiration will be honored.
All other VARA safety required
Spectators and guests are all welcome, no entry charge. There is free motorhome parking in paddock (no hook-ups).
