From the desk of President Vintage Auto Racing Association
To all Vara Members as I stated in my last communication to you We are currently planning and preparing for having our May race at Buttonwillow Racepark May 15-16.
We have been working Capt Craig Sanford on creating proper safety protocols for the event. Things like one in one out in registration, single page per team waivers sheets,6 foot social distancing in any que’s and in common areas around paddock spaces. We will also be asking all teams to give a bit more space between Pit spaces. The drivers meeting will be in written form and over the Pa system as to limit any large gathering in any single area, along with the use of face masks in and around the paddock.
Think of your pit space as home when alone no mask when other are around face mask please
PLEASE We need to have all teams register on MSR or call Jeanette as to get on the commitment list WE NEED TO KNOW BY THIS May 9th if at all possible I would like to have enough time to make up the Run groups and Race schedule for the weekend
I was thinking of having a 19 lap Sprint Race on Saturday for free open to all vintage cars.
We have been informed that the snack bar at the track will be open (window service only) for breakfast and lunch with a limited menu as the lunch room will be closed. The Willow Ranch at the truck stop will be open for takeout only. And the fast food joints as always the drive thru are open.
We will be doing a hamburger/ hot dog BBQ on Saturday night. This will be for you to take back to your pits and enjoy so we will be able to serve those who want stay at the track and eat. .
